VISAS

The Australian Embassy wishes to remind all visa applicants and clients that access to the visa area of the Embassy is by appointment only. Clients and Applicants should note the Embassy number and ring for an appointment time. The Embassy is currently experiencing a high workload and clients for visas who arrive without an appointment will not be able to be seen.

MESSAGES FROM THE CONSUL

CONSULAR NOTICE

Australian citizens in Belgrade should be aware of the European Handball Championships Semi Final between Serbia and Croatia on Friday 27 January.

The match at the Belgrade Arena (New Belgrade) will have a heavy police presence and are likely to be politically charged especially following earlier incidents between fans in Novi Sad.

We warn all Australians of the potential for localised violence and police responses in the vicinity of the stadium in the evening of Friday 27 January.

 

QUEENSLAND STATE ELECTION - 24 MARCH

The Queensland State Election will be held on 24 March 2012. The Australian Embassy in Belgrade will not be a polling booth for this election.

Those citizens on the QLD electoral roll who wish to vote should visit www.ecq.qld.gov.au for further info.

 

DRIVER'S LICENCES

The Australian Embassy is aware of the current policy by the Serbian authorities to retain Australian driver's licences when applying for a Serbian driver's licence.

Currently the Serbian Ministry of Interior passes the Australian Driver's licences onto the Australian Embassy following processing. 

If you believe that your driver's licence has been handed to the Australian Embassy, following an application for a Serbian driver's licence - please contact belgrade.embassy@dfat.gov.au

Australian Driver's licences held by the Embassy, that reach their expiry date will be destroyed.


 Important Visa & Migration Notices

As of 17 October 2011, the Albanian and Bulgarian visa caseload will be transferred for processing to the Australian Embassy in Belgrade. For more information please see our Visas and Migration page.

Clients attending the Australian Embassy in Belgrade to enquire about visa and immigration matters are required to have an appointment.
