The Visa Section of the Australian Embassy Belgrade processes visa applications from nationals of the following countries:
► Republic of Serbia
► Republic of Montenegro
► Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
► Romania
Belgrade also processes applications from Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

All clients are advised to phone or email the Visa Office in the first instance to discusss their requirements. In many circumstances the assistance required can be provided by phone or email, without the need to make an appointment.
Applying for a visa
In Romania: Romanian citizens do not need to approach this office to apply for a Tourist visa and can apply online. Non Romanian citizens living in Romania may present Tourist Visa and Short Stay Business Visa applications at the Australian Consulate in Bucharest. These applications will then be forwarded to Belgrade for lodgment and processing. Romanian citizens may also present Short Stay Business visa applications at the Australian Consulate in Bucharest for forwarding to Belgrade. All other visa applications must be forwarded to Australian Embassy in Belgrade by post or courier service.
In Republic of Serbia and in Republic of Montenegro: Applications can be lodged in person at the Australian Embassy in Belgrade. Applications can also be forwarded to the Australian Embassy in Belgrade by mail or courier service.
In FYR of Macedonia: All visa applications must be forwarded to the Australian Embassy in Belgrade by mail or courier service.

Health requirements
Statement Regarding Character
All visa applicants who are citizens of Former Yugoslavia including: Republic of Serbia & Republic of Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia must submit a completed and signed Statement Regarding Character.
Visa types
Visa applications lodged and processed by DIAC Belgrade are:

Visitors, including tourists, family visitors, short-stay business visitors and for medical treatment

Passengers transiting Australia

Students

Visiting academics, religious workers, occupational trainees, sportspeople and for participation in exchange programs

Resident Return visas (RRV), for people who have previously been granted permanent residence and wish to return to Australia.

Spouses, fiancés and interdependent partners of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens,

Family members, including last remaining relatives, carers or aged dependant relatives of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens,

Children of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens.

For most visa applications lodged at the Australian Embassy in Belgrade local forms produced by the Embassy itself must also be completed and included in a visa application.

Visitors and temporary entrants: All visitor and temporary visa applicants must submit a completed and signed Visa Questionnaire.

Citizenship
DIAC Belgrade receives applications for Australian citizenship and various evidentiary documents, including:
• Registration of citizenship by descent
• Resumption of Australian citizenship
• Renunciation of Australian citizenship
• Application for a certificate of evidence of Australian citizenship
• Application for evidence of Resident status in Australia
• Amendments to certificates of evidence of Australian citizenship
Please note that only some applications for citizenship by descent can be processed and decided in Belgrade. All other applications in this list must be sent to Australia for final decision and processing times can be lengthy.
