Australian Consulate in Bucharest, Romania - New Address from 1 August 2008.

The Australian Consulate in Bucharest, Romania is moving to new premises on 30 July 2008. The new office will open for business on 1 August 2008. The new address is : Str Buzesti 14-18, 5th Floor, Bucharest 011014. The phone numbers will remain the same : +4021 316 7558 and fax +4021 316 7562

If Australians in Romania require consular or passports assistance on 30 and 31 July they should contact the Consulate Duty Officer on +4072 2 64 44 64, or call the Australian Embassy in Belgrade during office hours on +381 11 3303 400.

In a consular emergency if you are unable to contact the Embassy in Belgrade or the Consulate in Bucharest you can contact the 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre on +61 2 6261 3305 or 1300 555 135 within Australia. Access to the Australian Embassy in Belgrade is severely affected by road works underway immediately in front of the building. Access to the embassy by car is no longer possible. Access for pedestrians is through the construction site, where heavy machinery is operating. At present there are NO pedestrian walkways offering protection for pedestrians.
The works will continue until at least early August.

The Embassy remains open and will continue to provide visa and consular services to clients, however visitors who can delay their business with the Embassy are asked to consider doing so until the construction is completed.

Consular assistance to Australian citizens is still available without an appointment.
